The West Memphis Chamber of Commerce is a private, membership driven association that works daily to promote commerce in and around West Memphis, Arkansas through concentrated efforts focused on business and community development. We strive to represent the business community of the West Memphis area in the development of goals and programs that will improve the economic well being of our community and the quality of life for our citizens; to coordinate the efforts of commerce, industry and local professionals in maintaining and strengthening a sound and healthy business climate in our area; to sponsor aggressive programs of work and stimulate activities that will provide full development and employment of our human and economic resources; to provide creative business leadership and effective coordination of all interested parties in solving community problems and in initiating constructive community action and finally, to create a broad understanding and appreciation of the great opportunities in the West Memphis area, and to promote the advantages and assets of our community.
To increase business and community development, we focus our efforts on the following activities and programs:
Advertising & Marketing: We advertise for our Chamber members in our Chamber website, Membership Directory, Relocation Packets, Visitor Guides and various other Chamber literature. KWAM offers free radio time to our Chamber members only. We proudly display our members' brochures and services in our Chamber lobby, hospitality vendors and welcome centers. We advertise member services/requests, community events, city information and non-profit needs in our weekly newsletter, various social media and on our website.
Weekly Newsletter: Our electronic Monday Memos contains news on local businesses, community activities, upcoming events and business education and is a great source of member to member advertising.
Resource Services: We are an information hub for citizens, local and incoming businesses, 1st time business owners and new residents. We offer guides on commercial and residential real estate, small business packets and community brochures, focusing our efforts on small business retention, workforce, creative placemaking and community development.
Networking: The Chamber provides networking opportunities for its members to form long-lasting business and social relationships through quarterlyly business socials, awards banquets, new member orientations, rotary, the Marion Chamber of Commerce and various other civic organizations.
Website Services: Upon becoming a Chamber member, your business will be placed on our website. Our membership directory offers alphabetical and categorical listings, giving you more visibility. Perfect for small businesses who don’t want the cost and headache of running a website. Simply use your membership page within our Chamber website to advertise and drive sales to your front door.
Ribbon Cuttings: Let us celebrate with you! We host Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings and Open House events for new or relocated businesses. These events brings curious customers, fellow Chamber members, and brand awareness to hundreds of residents and businesses in the area. This service comes with free advertising in the local newspaper, Chamber website and all Chamber social media.
Business Education: The Chamber partners with ASU Mid-South, UofA Research & Extension Service of Crittenden County, West Memphis High School, Career Development & Technical Institute, Arkansas Small Business Administration, Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas State Business & Technology Development Center to provide business development, workforce training, professional mentorships, as well as junior high and adult professional development programs.
Community Activities: The Chamber promotes positive community growth by advertising member events, hosting the annual Christmas Parade and co-hosting several joint events with the City of West Memphis and the Marion Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber also provides promotional materials, relocation information, civic guides, industry and tourism guides, and business directories in and around West Memphis.
Community Representation: On behalf of the business community, the Chamber works with various state and local organizations as well as city and county departments to ensure representation and consideration of our small business and residential community.
Volunteerism: The quickest way to see the return on your Chamber investment is to get involved. Members can impact West Memphis by joining 1 of our 9 committees as we seek to grow our community and enhance our quality of life. Consider joining our Chamber Diplomats first! This group serves as a public relations team who bring valuable information and resources to our Chamber members and community, as well as assisting in all Chamber events.
Leadership Program: Our Chamber offers a leadership development program for West Memphis 9th graders and a comprehensive adult leadership program for residents and employees in Crittenden County, Arkansas. Our programs are geared toward creating a network of leaders who will address problems and achieve solutions together; developing leaders capable of articulating a clear and inspiring vision of our community’s future; developing leaders who focus their talents on innovative resolutions to modern-day issues; and expand leadership pools by drawing on the talents of All people in and around the community.
Free Drug Prescription Cards: These cards are available to anyone who is not currently enrolled in an insurance prescription plan that provides drug coverage.
